Soltre James (pronounced sultry) was born and raised in Chicago. She always had a love for music but never thought that one day she would pursue that love as her career. She started out singing in her elementary school's glee club at the age of 7, under Mrs. Mays, and later finished her 8th grade year with Mr. Morris. Soltre never looked at music as a job, so once she completed high school, she majored in biological sciences pre-med, but the goals Soltre had set for herself were about to change. She changed her major from biological sciences pre-med to music business management, where she thought she would gain work behind the scenes, but once again her plans were about to change.

While interning at J.A.W Entertainment, as an engineering assistant, Soltre got her first break at singing. She auditioned for one of the clients as a background vocalist and from there her career path catapulted. Soltre started singing hooks for local artists around Chicago and that career blossomed into her singing background for Common, Big Daddy Kane, Carl Thomas, Choklate, YahZarah (formerly of Foreign Exchange), and Geno Young. Now, Soltre is taking that "20 feet from stardom" walk to the forefront. She has released her first single, "I'm Not Coming Back", and is currently working on her first album entitled Therapy Sessions, scheduled for release in 2017.
